·         Ridership

Average weekday ridership for the month of June 2023 was 112,379, up by 7,822 or 7% from the previous year. Fiscal year-to-date ridership is at 38,992,507, up by 12% from the previous year.

 

Ridership continues to recover in 2023 and is still approximately 36 percent lower than pre-pandemic level.

 

·         On-Time Performance

System-wide on-time performance is at 71.6% for the month of June 2023. Out of 107 total routes, 53 routes exceeded on-time performance of 80% and 0 performed under 50%. Rail construction on the Dillingham corridor has been affecting many of our routes that run into Honolulu on the parallel corridors along Nimitz Highway and King Street.

 

The DTS and OTS Service Review Committee reviews service levels, including on-time performance monthly.

 

·         Maintenance

Miles between Mechanical Road Calls has improved for the year, averaging 12,839 miles.

 

·         Service Modifications

Minor service modifications to the following routes were implemented with the May sign-up and remain in effect until the July sign-up.

 

-       Route U1 has been discontinued;

-       Route 52 route modified in Haleiwa due to terminus change from Haleiwa Beach Park to Weed Circle; and

-       Layover decreased along Kailua Road for windward circulators Routes 671 - 674.

 

·         Human Resources

Employee relations have been good with the number of grievances being low for the year.

 

We continue to work with DTS on bus/rail service integration with an implementation date of July 1st.
